Krakoa - the living island, the new home to all mutant kind who wish to live there.
A safe self governing space pioneered by professor x and his mutant brothers and sisters. With its unique flora and its medicinal properties mutant kind was able to leverage with human kind to be considered a sovereign nation, with the offering of their unique drugs to help the human condition, they create a space where any mutant that wishes to be there is welcome.

The idea of a krakoa to me is a space where my ideas and creativity can flow freely and be themselves, no dilution just pure openness. In the story newly reimagined by Johnathon Hickman and his all star team of writers and artists we get a view into the complexity which makes the metaphor of mutants in this world of humans.

This idea of a space where I may create what I wish when I wish stems from a new way of life forced upon me, coming out of a broken engagement from the love of my life of seven years I find a new freedom to create what I feel when I feel it, the beginnings of my own krakoa.

While the break up was amicable and respectful on both sides, still I questioned, could I have done something different? Would anything have changed had I done anything differently?

Much like the many lives lived by Moira McTaggert in the house and powers of x line of comics, it seems sometimes no matter what we do the end outcome happens regardless.

With this grain of salt I am building a new lifestyle with my health first and a focus on creating what feels right when it does. This space of creativity so graciously presented to me by the beautiful people at alpha pup allows me to move forward knowing my own krakoa is very possible and already living and breathing inside of me.

Each track a mutation of my own self and my own emotions. I feel a sense of power knowing my life long adventure of musical creativity has made it possible for me to explain my self In ways I thought previously wasn’t possible. In the past music had been so consuming it almost seemed to be a Achilles heel. While still pushing through like Charles Xavier and his goal of a space where mutant kind can finally be at peace and live in harmony with humans, I too have felt a opportunity to truly be my self and express freely what comes through me. This metaphor of krakoa has been a amazing adventure and idea to extrapolate on.

Thank you for listening and I hope anyone who listens can find themselves on a journey to be there own island of krakoa, a safe space, a vision of something better and more grand than just ourselves or what we perceive to be ourselves.
