about

This album is a final reflection on this year. 2020 the year we all faced a huge transition globally, at the cost of life we find a chance to rebuild, reflect and make a choice, what matters to you when all your comfort and daily routine is thrown in a grinder? We all have been affected one way or another this year. With my year starting off with the sudden death of my older brother everything else seemed to be numbed away. Working a job that was deemed essential I feel like the years experience was different than the majorities, I still had to grind and fight off the feelings of a lockdown, seeing the world transition and I’m still doing the same thing practically daily built a sense of guilt, paired with the overwhelming waves of depression from missing my best friend and not having concrete answers to how he passed I was forced to come to terms with what life is now. We all are feeling different shades of the color pallet of 2020, this is a horrible situation but with every failure comes the possibility to learn from our mistakes and move forward best we can. The sonic pallets of this album are laced with hope, demise and a over all melancholy perspective. There is beauty of being able to slow down and appreciate the things we have around us, it’s great to have a beautiful view but at what cost does that come? The pandemic and social unrest of our planet has forged a forced pause on all of us one way or another. I am grateful to be alive and where I am but my heart breaks watching the sunset knowing how many of us on this planet will never see another again saddens me deeply and breaks my heart knowing my brother isn’t here to enjoy the ocean breezes, enjoy laughs and conversations, enjoy a movie, anything normal ever again. We all take for granted the little things and this year has built a transition to focus on the intention we set out in our daily lives. This album spilled out of me like I opened my mind and the tides of the oceans amassed. We are all faced with tough choices and decisions on the daily. What we do with those define the path we are on.
